The coast of Portopalo of Capo Passero has a particular morphology, alternating long sandy shores to beautiful bluffs, now to precipice on the sea, now that softly degrade to the water. The zone of Scalo Mandrie offers you the possibility to choose among the two alternatives: beach or rock-cliffs. Also Capo Passero Island, that really in front of Scalo Mandrie, offers splendid beach of sand, while from the opposite part, has an enchantment bluff with caves and ravines illuminated by the game of lights of the reflexes of the sea on their walls.

Continuing toward west, after having passed the beaches of Pantanello, Pozzo Ferrera, Punta Nipro, Pilieri, Cala Sigaretta and Vallonìa, there is the sandy shore that, for the presence of dunes and Mediterranean vegetation purely, more than the other ones it recalls to the mind that landscapes typical of the African coast. We have arrived to the beach in front of the island of the Tides that, after a small line of rock-cliffs, it continues in the long beach of Carratois Punto Rio, from where spectacular and unforgettable sunsets can be admired.
